Bernard Whitman starts business in two old barns in N. Bennington, VT

 

1955

Whitman’s moves to its current location to have access to rail siding next to the warehouse

 

1965

Bulk storage bins were added to offer bulk delivery to local farmers who previously purchased only bagged feed

 

1988

Bernard retires, passing the business to his son Art, Art’s wife Kathy and their son Jeff 

 

1995

The mill is added for mixing custom feeds

 

2005

A warehouse and retail store is added to expand focus on pets

 

2015

Poulin Grain, a 4th generation feed company based in Newport, VT purchases Whitman's Feed Store and the mill
